Identify at least 5 terms and concepts that you need to know and understand about ICT. Discuss how these terms are used in relation to ICT? How can these be helpful in your profession? How can these be helpful to 21st Century learners? How can these be utilized in teaching and learning process?

Technology refers to a mix of process and product used in the application of knowledge. It includes tools from pencil and paper to the latest electronic gadgets and tools for practical task. Technology is the equipments that is used to demonstrate and let the students experience the lesson. It can be a big help to students in having easier way of studying. Technology provides a help for a teacher to easily explain what he/she wants to deliver and a simple technology can help a students to easily remeber what teacher tought them by taking notes with notebooks and pencil.

Online digital tools and Apps use an Internet connection to access the information needed. A common example is Skype. It is a telecommunication application software product that specializes in providing a video chat and video calls between computers,tablets, mobile devices via Internet and to regular telephones. Since phones, tablets and laptop are most common used gadgets in this time of pandemic, these online digital tools and apps helps a teacher to be more creative and motivating lesson, reach the students who are distant, and serves also as platform in conducting classes. It can also help the students to make their activities, joining class and even communicate with classmates and teachers for clarification.

Multimedia is a sequential or simultaneous use of a variety of media formats in a given presentation or self-study program. Some of the students are good learner by hearing, by learning with classmates, aeing visual examples and demontration of lesson, and etc. This multimedia will mostly help the students to have an image of what the teacher discuss. It is good for the learners who learns through visual by watching videos about lesson and visual presentation.It is also good for the learners through hearing by music and hyms about lesson. It will be easier for teacher to imply the lesson by using multimedia as a tool in learning.

Internet is a massive network of networks, a networking infrastructure. It connects millions of computers together globally, forming a network in which any computer can communicate with any other computer as long as they are connected to the internet. It is generally defined as a global network connecting millions of computers.Internet makes everyone connected to each other. Internet gives access to world wide web that will help the teacher to formulate his/her lesson plan and to be connected with students. Internet is very important nowadays because schools use online platforms to deliver lessons and for teachers to conduct a discussion to their students. It also help the students and teachers to attend online seminar through social media platforms.

World Wide Web (www) is also called a Web which is a graphical environment on computer networks that allows you to access, view and maintain documentations that can include text, data, sound and videos (Smaldino, 2005). It is a way of accessing information over the medium of the internet. It is an information sharing model that is built on top of the Internet.

World wide web provides any free articles, documents, data, and multimedias that will help the teacher to formulate his/her lesson plans and energizer. It will also provide learning for the students. In just one click, learners will have idea about what they want to know. It can also be a online storage for other documents that teacher or students created.

Curriculum and Assessment : As the curriculum is needed to ready and fill the students with knowledge and wisdom. Assessment also will show what the students learned and to know where the teacher will focus that the students are harder to get
Pedagogy: Boosting the learning of the students through the right use of technology in classroom for activity, and lesson proper.
Technology tools : These technologies is filling the proficiency of education. Technology makes class enjoyable, exciting and more interesting.
Organization and Administration : Teacher will be the one to supervise what the technology will be using for educational purpose only that will help the students to learn.
Teacher Professional Learning : Technology can be also use for learning of a teacher. Teacher can access different platforms that has articles and even attending different seminars

The importance of ICT in teaching practices is adjusting to the trend of generation Z that will help to give more effective learning to the student.

•Discuss how technology has influenced one’s life as a learner and how one is going to use technology as a teacher.

Technology makes everything easy. Technology has the capacity to have all resources of information that learners will need to understand lesson, answer a activity, create reports and even research papers. Teacher uses technology to make the class more interesting and interactive by letting the students watch video about the topic and posting presentations. Teacher can also look for other resources so that he can add the idea or example to the topic while explaning.

Information technology is building communications networks for a company, safeguarding data and information, creating and administering databases, helping employees troubleshoot problems with their computers or mobile devices, or doing a range of other work to ensure the efficiency and security of business information .
Telecommunications technology refers to distance communications, such as radio, telephone, television, satellite, microwave, data communication, and computer networking. In the 21st century, it is essential to the conduct of most elections.
Network Technology involves the use of data systems to manage and deliver digital resources over a computer network. A variety of industries use computer hardware and system software that maintains a network, creating a need for specialists to manage them.

Enumerate the ict for education (ICT4E) program for education

The ICT program focuses on the intersection of technology, people who use that technology, policies and regulations that govern the use of that technology and communities or environments in which that technology is used. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) can impact student learning when teachers are digitally literate and understand how to integrate it into curriculum. Schools use a diverse set of ICT tools to communicate, create, disseminate, store, and manage information.


Development of Instructional Material

Each group will be
asked to choose a certain topic and develop an appropriate conventional instructional
material.

My group choose a topic about elements of music. We use art materials to represent these different elements of music and boost the excitement of students to participate in the lesson.


Unit 5: Essay Writing

What are the 21st Century skills and how do they help people collaborate in their project or endeavour?

21st-century skills is term that usually refers to certain core competencies such as critical thinking, communication skills, creative, problem-solving, perseverance, information literacy, technology skills and digital literacy that educators need to teach to help students grow and develop well in today’s world. Critical Thinking is the objective analysis of every situation in order to form a idea.It enables every individual to think outside the box in order to formulate an idea that will help them to formulate good output. Creative is a combination of making things with artistic methods in able to make beter product. Perseverance is one of the good character that student posses because; Students will be able to accomplish hard task by consistently giving effort to it. Information literacy is the ability to find, evaluate, organize, use, and communicate information in all its various formats. Digital literacy refers to an individual who cana clearly communicate information through typing and sending media on various digital platforms. These different competencies have the important role that will help the student to grow and become responsible in order to be collaborative with other people around.

How can the social networking site can be used as a tool for instruction?

Instructional materials are things that are useful in learning of student inside the classroom, in which are created by art materials. As the time goes by, technology arises as well as adapting technology in the learning environment. Technology becomes a aid for instructional material, it is convenient for a teacher. There were many things that can do to technology, like presentation of medias and accessing social networking site.
Social networking site is an online platform which is usually use for communication and socializing. Changes also occur in social networking site, it needs update for the better process and better experience for users. Instead of just sticking to socializing and communication, these platforms expands their capabilities. It can now offer different use of socializing like negotiating online businesses, interacting with media uploads and becomes also a tool for instruction.
In this time of pandemic, online learning are the only choice that the students will have, so students will learn by attending online class, receiving instructions online, collaborate with classmates thru online, finding online resources, and online media resources for learning. Teachers use media in social networking sites as an instructional tool to cultivate the learning of students.

Writing a Reflection to be Posted on the online Blog/Classroom – made twitter Wall. Direction: Each student will write a reflection pertaining to the Dale’s Cone of Experience. You will be graded based on the rubrics below.

Dale’s Cone of Experience is a model about the percentage of remembering things. In reading, 10% of all the information is only stored in child’s memory. So, it is not good that teacher and parents just let the children read and comprehend the modules on their own. In hearing different lesson through discussion, music and radios, children can only remember 20% of it. It means that hearing a discussion is better than reading books and modules alone. Hearing lesson can stimulate understanding and imagination of the student and it will be easier for them to have an idea to remember the lesson. Seing visuals enable the children to establish, explain, connect, and associate ideas and concepts to make the process of learning more interesting and effective. It also helps the students to gain proper view about the topic but only 30% of information are remebered. A combination of hearing and seeing the lesson stimulates the thinking, reasoning, problem-solving, decision-making, and creating. Videos take the student beyond recall-and-relate activities. Learning video is a tool to help the children to remember 50% of the lesson. Learning is not about absorbing the information in the topic but also giving insights about the topic. It will help the students to retain the 70% of lesson. The best thing to attain 90% of learning and rettaining lesson is by engaging and demonstrating the things that an individual have learned.

Essay Writing

Dale’s Cone of Experience is a model that incorporates several theories related to instructional design and learning processes. It illustrates the capacity of the students to remeber what they have learn by specific types of activity such as reading, hearing, seeing visuals, watching videos, disccussion, practicing and demonstrating. It allows instructors to understand how to increase the retention rate of learners by letting the learner experience learning.
It provides teaching and learning models that allows teachers to know the retention rate of the student and cope up with a good strategy on how to impart the lesson to the students. While the learner participate in the learning process, they awaken the sensory organs to easily absorb the shared knowledge.
Teaching is not about distributing knowledge and just let the students to take it. Teaching is about knowing the students in able to give what they need. Knowing the capacity of the students, interest of the students to learn, knowing what type of learner they are (whether they are visual learner, kinesthetic learner and etc) and also knowing the retention of the students from different aspects of learning. Cone of experience is a good model for the teacher to follow to come up with the teaching strategies that will help for the retainment of the knowledge for every topic.

Task Sheet 8

Direction: Write an essay which analyze the relation of SAMR with Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy Discussion and Selection of technology that can be integrated in a lesson.

SAMR is a abbreviation for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redifinition. It is a model for different methods on how an individual will use the technology inside the classroom. Substituting a basic activity for another technology-integrated basic activity. There is no change in the activity regardless of the presence of technology. Augmentation refers to the technology that is use as a tool to help make the task a bit easier. There is very little change between the activity with and without technology, but change is noticeable. Modification means that common tasks are modified to increase accomplishment through technology. In Redefinition, learning is redefined with a tasks that were unable to be accomplished without technology.

The main purpose of SAMR is to move the simple task into using technologies. According to the article that I have read, SAMR coupled with Blooms moves the student from lower-level remembering to higher-order thinking of evaluating and creating. They also possess a two function that cn be applied for the learning of student. The first is for remembering and retaining the knowledge that have been taught to the students. The second is for good deliveration, in order to explain, demonstrate and let the student’s experience holistic learning.

It is important to use technology effectively so that it will help to increase the student engagement, improve teacher’s way of instructing and also build the 21st century skills of the student through the use of technology.

Direction: Look for a research article pertaining to TPACK and ASMR model and create an analysis from the said research article



Both TPACK and SAMR model is used for the technology integration in classroom. It helps the rducators to imrove on how effectively promote learning through the use of technology. SAMR is all about the substituting traditional learning into productive learning through technology. Both models have great value to them. The TPACK model focuses more on the knowledge required to meaningfully integrate technology, and the SAMR model focuses more on what meaningful technology integration looks like. Author says that if she would choose in two, she would pick SAMR. Because this model encourage the learning above the line. According also to the article that I have read that if you will integrate technology to the class that doesn’t redefine the educational experience and enhance learning, then it’s not an appropriate technology. It is a good idea when deciding if a technology is appropriate. The author states that the SAMR model is great at helping new tech coaches to understand this concept of “teaching above the line”.The higher the level of an activity the greater the educational benefit. Still, it is better for the educators to use both models in order to promote better learning for the students.

ASSURE is an instructional design paradigm that aims to improve teaching and learning effectiveness. The ASSURE model is a step-by-step procedure for creating and delivering instructions that incorporates technology and media into the learning process. It also refers to a method of preparing lesson plans that aids teachers in structuring classroom operations. The ASSURE methodology focuses on the preparation for actual media use in the classroom. As a result, some argue that most teachers are aware of this and recognize that incorporating technology into the curriculum is the best way to make a positive influence in education, and that there are numerous particular tactics that can be utilized to incorporate technology into the mix.

The ASSURE Model will be valuable in my future job as a teacher since it will serve as a guide for me when it comes to incorporating technology into the classroom. It is extremely beneficial for instructors to implement digital learning for all pupils in order to capture their attention, curiosity, and even retention of knowledge.

This model will be used in my classroom in the future, which will benefit both me and my pupils. It’s useful because when creating well-stated learning objectives, this model takes into account the audience, behavior, conditions, and level of competence.

Technology seems to be the “must” in this generation. In order to : make a class presentation; video introduction; a visual for discussion; creating written works; and to enhance performance task, you must use technology. If without technology, an individual works hard in order to complete a minimal amount of task in a long time but with technology it’s not like that. Technology makes everything better than before.
Technology is important in eduction because nowadays education revolves around technology. It improves the quality of education. It changes the traditional learning into interactive learning. It helps every student to become more competitive and create better experience for every students. It is convenient to every students and teachers that they could save time, effort and money.
In using technology education, improve performance, enhance presentation and better results are being emphasize. It covers the different areas of education. Not only in discussion or performance but also in communication and consulting for things that could fulfill the undone schoolworks.

ICT based is becoming the center of choice in this generation because of it is convenient and easy to use. The use of ICT in assessment has become helpful in measuring the learning outcome of the student in hollistic aspects. It helps the teacher to easily measure the ability of the students and the knowledge that they have learn from the lesson.
The current trends in technology based assessment practices in schools are what we are using in the midst of pandemic. We use online platform such as google forms, edmodo, quizlet and other websites for taking exams and some are other apps in order to upload the perfomance task like google drive, youtube , fb/messenger, and different websites. There were also different apps that can help the student to create their activity and performance to be presentable, there are video, pictures and music edditing apps, and even creating presentations for their actual demonstration.
Technology has a large impact in our society, in which it helps a lot of people to use those for their convenience. Some people really appreciate the technology bsed assessment but some doesn’t. There were people that still can’t afford technology for the technology based assessment that could allign them from focusing on the exam because of straggling to find technology or gadget to use to take their exams and other different activities. Since we are in the midst of pandemic, there’s no choice but to follow what are the rules given by school to take an exam. It can still measure the things that an individual learned from the class.

tools/applications in assessment in learning used by the teachers. Create a short video

Explain the purpose and use of rubrics, checklist, and rating scale in the assessment of learning? What are the criteria that the teacher should consider in creating a rubric? When should a teacher use rating scales and checklists?

A teacher should have set his/ her basis and standard for an excellent perfomance and output of every student. Rubrics is use to have an organized scoring system for different activities. It is an instrument to measure the capability and skills of a student from their output. It’s necessary for the teacher to create a reasonable and specific scoring rubric to avoid guessing scores. Many students are grade conscious, some are not, but it is good that a teacher have prepared a scoring guidelines incase the students asks for what they have lack to get a score that doesn’t meet their expected score.
The main focus for making rubrics are Focus, Organization and Clarity. Organization of taughts, ideas, sentence, and other factors to measure in assessing individual performance. Clarity of execution of performance and written works. An activity should focus on the stated direction/instructions.
An Educator should use rating scales and checklist in direct or indirect assessment because it will help him/her to know the improvements of their students. In every direct assessment like written works, art activities, and perfomance task, a teacher should use rubrics. And in indirect assessment that a teacher can use checklist for the characteristics and skills to assess the students capabilities.

It is like “one for all and all for one” that have been created by the internet that connects eveyone in online platform. Every individual should be accountable for deciding what information to choose and what information to avoid.
Digital literacy, media literacy, and social literacy are all skills that netizens should have. Students should know how to properly cite every article, as well as how to paraphrase and avoid plagiarism.
